The large old farmhouse which has been the seat of our family for decades holds a special place in the hearts of all of us. Memories of countless gatherings, holidays and important occasions live within us all, and we are committed to preserving this glorious old property regardless of its age. With Mom and Dad advancing in age and not as able to care for the place as they used to be, it has fallen to my siblings and me to undertake much needed foundation repairs.
On a recent visit to the homestead, I ventured down into what we have always affectionately called the cellar, and I found something disturbing.
